 Where is Pine Mountain Lake?
In Tuolumne County, northern California, east of San Francisco, in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Access is from State Highway 120, with connections to Highways 108 and 49. Elevation ranges from 2450 feet above sea level below the dam to 3000 feet on the surrounding mountaintops. The county seat of Sonora is located 26 miles to the Northwest. Half a mile away is Groveland, one of the original 1849 gold rush towns. Yosemite National Park is 26 miles further east on Highway 120.

What is Pine Mountain Lake?
Pine Mountain Lake (PML) is a planned subdivision of approximately 3700 lots on 3600 acres. It was created in 1969 by Boise Cascade Corporation, and turned over to the Homeowner's Association (HOA) in 1974 after most of the lots were sold. Each of the existing 3000+ homes were custom built. They range from 900 square foot cabins to 8000 square foot homes. Near the airport there are homes with hangars as well. Average lot size is one-third acre, although some lots are up to two acres in size. The 52 miles of roads are private and maintained by the PML HOA, as are the 600 acres of greenbelt (undeveloped commonly-owned land) There are no sidewalks, streetlights, or fences. Cars cannot be parked in the street. The monthly Homeowner's Association dues are $109. A discount is given if paid annually.

What recreational amenities does it have?
Pine Mountain Lake is 210 acres with 6 miles of shoreline, and is as deep as 110 feet. Held by an earthen dam, it is a private, recreational lake that stays full year-round. Owners of lakefront lots may have their own floating docks, beaches and sea walls. Access for all others is from the 3 sandy swimming beaches at the main Marina, Dunn Court, the Lake Lodge and from Fisherman's Cove. A water taxi shuttle operates between the four locations during the summer. Lake cruises are available everyday during summer months. The length of the cruise depends on the type of cruise that you take.

Marina
Boat registration, launching, docking, boat rentals, water-ski sign-ups, fishing licenses, marina entrance, beach security and gas dock are all controlled from the Marina Store.

Boat Registration - PML Boat registration is required on all hard type boats, canoes, etc. and anything with a motor, including trolling motors. Any boat with a motor over 25HP must have a separate insurance policy OR be named on Homeowner Insurance as additional insured. Homeowners Insurance is acceptable for boats without a motor i.e. canoe, kayak, rowboat & paddleboat.

To register your boat you must have in your possession: Property owners control card, picture ID, insurance papers with $300,000 liability listed, DMV registration and DMV sticker number. All items must be in hand to register your vessel. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Register your boat at the Main Gate Department of Safety during the Marina Store off-season.
 

2007 Boat Registration Fees

Registration fees are based on the calendar year and are non-refundable.
 

Boat Docking - Boat slips, beach spaces, mud flats and rack spaces are for designated property owner’s use only and are assigned by the Marina Manager.  Get on the waiting list early for a seasonal slip - the waiting list is running approx 2 years.
 

No trailer parking permitted except for day use only. No boats will be permitted in the dock slips from October 31, 2007 through May 1, 2008.  Boats left at the Marina dock or beach area after October 31, 2007 will be removed at owners risk and stored at $20 a day.
 

Boat Rentals - A $20 deposit and I.D. or a property owner’s gate card is required on each boat rental. See Marina Manager for weekly rates.  All prices are subject to change without notice! Must be 16 years or older with proof of a driver’s license.

Special Fee for all Water Skiers, Lake Boarders and Knee Boarders - $35 fee per year for the privilege of water skiing, wake boarding and knee boarding on Pine Mountain Lake.
 

Water Taxi - Avoid the crowds parking at the Marina. Park your car at Fisherman’s Cove, Dunn Court or Lake Lodge and ride one of the two custom 18 passenger water taxi's! 2007 Rates - $2 per adult for an unlimited day pass, $1 per child (8 yrs & under) for an unlimited day pass.  (Day passes not available on holidays or holiday weekends.)

No one under the age of 16 is permitted in the Marina unless accompanied by an adult.  No lifeguard on duty.

Golf Course
Pine Mountain Lake Golf Course, one of the Top 15 “Best Courses to Play in Northern California,” is an 18-hole championship course available for public play and tournaments. The challenging 18-hole, 6,382 yard, par 70 course offers you breath taking views of the majestic mountain peaks of Yosemite as it winds through picturesque oaks and pines. The course, designed by William F. Bell, opened in 1969 and is always in excellent condition.  Experts and novices alike appreciate the driving range in a true golf course setting. Tee Time Reservations
PROPERTY OWNERS can reserve tee times up to 14 days in advance, beginning at 7am, March 12 through November 12. Tee time reservations on major holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day) are taken for all days of the weekend 14 days in advance.  Reservations will be limited to one (1) tee time per day during major holiday weekends. Property owners may request one (1) additional tee time 10 days in advance.
Guests: In order to obtain guest rate the reservation must be made by a property owner either in person or by phone. Property owners may make tee times for their guests two (2) weeks in advance.
Public: can make reservations 10 days in advance, beginning at 7am, March 12 through November 12.

Dress Code
Men Collared shirts, no blue jeans or blue jean shorts, swim trunks or sweat pants.
Women No tank tops; blouses must have 4" strap. No blue jeans, blue jean shorts, short shorts or swim suits.

Driving Range
Tokens are available at the PML Golf Pro Shop or the Snack Shack. Tokens are $2.50 each or 4 for $8. One token= 25-30 balls.

2007 Pine Mountain Lake Golf Fees

Carts are mandatory for all golfers on major holiday weekends until twilight.

Twilight begins at 2pm, 3pm or 4pm, depending on the season. Call the PML Golf Pro Shop at 209-962-8620 for details.

Once again the Pine Mountain Lake Golf Course received a 4.5 star rating out of 5 for the Golf Digest - Places to Play.  This rating is based on reader comments to Golf Digest.  This year's Best Places to Play rated more than 4000 courses in North America and the Islands.  The courses were evaluated by approximately 20,000 Golf Digest readers.  As always the courses were rated on the overall golf experience, value for the money, standard of service, conditioning of the course and normal pace of play for 18 holes.  Enjoy the course!

Country Club Restaurant and Lounge
The Country Club Restaurant - located at 12765 Mueller Drive - serves lunch Thursday through Saturday, dinner on Friday and Saturday and a brunch buffet on Sunday. Special events include Monday Night Football parties, comedy nights, holiday dinner/dances and musical entertainment most Friday and Saturday nights at the 19th Hole Lounge.
 

Tennis
Tennis courts 1, 2, 3 & 4 are located in Unit 4 on Pine Mountain Drive between Boitano Road and Crescent Way. Courts 5 & 6 are on Mueller Drive, near the Country Club. Annual tennis passes for property owners and for renters/guests are purchased at the PML Association Office. Daily and monthly passes are for sale at the Main Gate Department of Safety office only. All players must have a valid tennis pass. Racquet club doubles, ladies, and men's are scheduled on weekdays. For court reservations call 209-962-8615.
 

Swimming Pool
The heated swimming pool is located on Mueller Drive above the Country Club. Swim lessons, aqua exercise classes, ping pong, pool socials, snack bar and pool store. Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard on duty! Phone 209-962-8634.


Equestrian Center
The full service Stables offers trail rides Friday, Saturday and Sundays, special excursions, play days, horse shows, children’s horse camps, along with total care stalls, corrals and paddock rentals for your horse. A riding arena, exercise ring and a large picnic area and barbecue area are also available. The Stables are located in unit 12, on the corner of Clements and Clifton Way.  OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Advanced reservations are required. Safety equipment is provided.

Little Wrangler Camp - Supervised by PML’s professional Stables staff. This camp is the perfect way to introduce your child to the world of horses and the life of a “cowpoke” all in a friendly, safe environment. Camps consist of horse and stables care, fun and game activities and lunch. Camps run every Tuesday (ages 7-9) and Thursday (ages 10-13) 9am to 1pm, June, July and August
Cost is $35 per child, per 1-day camp. Limited to 10 students per 1-day camp.

Campgrounds
The campground facility is operated by Pine Mountain Lake with sites reserved for PML property owners, their guests & the public. Facilities include 23 campsites, each with cooking fireplaces and a picnic bench. Included in the 23 are 10 RV hook-up sites, each with power and water (dump site on location). Guests have the use of 2 nearby restrooms, both with running water, one with hot showers. The campground is open 7 days a week during the summer season. Stays limited to 14 days within any 31 day period.

* All generators are specifically prohibited.
* GROUND FIRES ARE PROHIBITED. Fires must be confined to designated barbecue pits. Please put out your barbecue fire before leaving
* Electric cords and water hoses may never be connected to bathrooms
* No washing of dishes in bathroom sinks
* Use dumpsters for your trash
* Please do not put your cigarette butts out on the ground
* Fireworks are prohibited
* Hunting is illegal in Pine Mountain Lake. Loaded firearms are prohibited
* PLEASE KEEP CAMPSITES NEAT AND CLEAN. Check prior to vacating

Hiking & Walking Trails
Pine Mountain Lake's Hiking Trails and Archery Range - located in Units 14 & 16 - are available to all property owners, renters and guests. Hours of use are from 7 AM to dusk. Dogs on leash allowed. The Pine Mountain Lake Green Belt Hiking Trail, a 1.5 mile loop, is in units 3 & 4. Trailhead starts at Fisherman's Cove on Rock Canyon Way in Unit 3. Over 20 interpretive nature signs detailing native plant life have been installed along the trail.

Airport
The airport at Pine Mountain Lake, owned and operated by Tuolumne County, is in Unit 12 on Elderberry Way. Facilities on site include fueling, parking and a coffee shop. 209-962-8966 (pay phone)

Location: North Latitude 37° 51’ 45”, West Longitude 120° 10' 40".

Elevation: 2,933 feet above sea level.

Runway: 27/09, 3,625 feet long with 100' lighted overruns at each end. Surface is asphalt. Right traffic runway 27.

Taxiway: 3,600' long, paved.

Lights: Runway and rotating beacon, VASI - Runway 09 and PAPI - Runway 27.

Tie Down Area: Paved, approximately 54 tie downs. 5 transient tie downs available on west side of ramp, south of fuel pumps. Overnight fees are $4.00 single, $8.00 twin.
